Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Food and Beverage Manager - Banquets and Outlets to join our team at Hyatt Hotels. As a key member of our Food and Beverage department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our banquets and food and beverage outlets, ensuring exceptional guest service and exceeding our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise the Events Department and Food & Beverage Outlets, working closely with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments.
  • Lead and motivate the Banquet team, including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants, to achieve exceptional guest service results and complete associate engagement.
  • Assist the hotel in reaching top box service scores on our Meeting Planner surveys by ensuring thorough communication and understanding with guests and other departments.
  • Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings, maintaining standards of food, beverage, and meeting specifications.
  • Proactively review staffing and equipment needs to ensure seamless operations.
  • Coordinate and execute all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/CS, CS Floor, and Beverage departments.
  • Maintain a high energy, positive, professional appearance and develop innovative and creative décor for Banquet function space.
  • Responsible for short and long-term banquet functions in the front and back of the house.
  • Create an environment establishing highest standards of quality service and ensure implementation through effective hiring, training, development, promotion, and continuous reinforcement.
  • Perform daily walk-throughs in banquet department, food & beverage outlets, all function space, and storerooms to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards.
  • Develop ideas for special events and holiday functions.
Requirements
  • Full-time management position requiring full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule.
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge.
  • Extremely creative, innovative, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Hotel experience and a thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service and food & beverage outlets.
  • Previous experience as an Event Services Manager/Assistant, Food & Beverage Outlet Manager, Event Services Captain, or Event Services Supervisor preferred.
  • Must possess high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communication, strong development and training, and exceptional customer service skills.
