Job Overview

ROLE SUMMARY: The HR Specialist plays a pivotal role in fostering a healthy workplace culture and supporting various human resource functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Contribute to company-wide wellness programs.

  • a. Aid in creating and disseminating wellness-related communications.
  • b. Assist in the planning and execution of wellness engagement events.

2. Provide assistance to the Talent Acquisition team.

  • a. Manage the complete recruitment cycle to fulfill staffing needs across diverse business sectors.
  • b. Support corporate and field HR personnel in recruitment and retention efforts.
  • c. Monitor and report essential metrics to evaluate staffing activities and effectiveness.

3. Facilitate plant retention strategies by delivering quarterly data on recruitment, training, and exits.

  • d. Conduct exit interviews at plant locations as required.
  • e. Provide monthly summaries of exit interviews and new hire feedback to relevant teams.
  • f. Assist in the preparation of materials for HR and leadership training sessions.

4. Oversee the GoSTTX/HR Portal for HR updates, contacts, and documentation.

5. Support the HR team with audits related to benefits, wellness, payroll, and recruitment.

6. Manage the employee recognition program.

7. Offer administrative support and project management for company-wide engagement initiatives and HR projects.

8. Document all travel to Mexico.

  • a. Register travelers with the consulate.
  • b. Maintain all travel documentation.

9. Administer Employee Discount Programs.

  • a. Keep documentation of discount programs updated on GoSTTX.
  • b. Address employee inquiries regarding discount offerings.

10. Serve as a backup for maintaining corporate and plant security databases, including issuing and replacing access badges.

11. Act as a backup for the corporate receptionist.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in various software applications, including UKG, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Competence in accurately retrieving and entering data into systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent written communication abilities.
  • Capability to research, analyze, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with corporate wellness regulations and trends.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred, along with 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources. Relevant experience and training may substitute for formal education.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is based in an office environment with moderate noise levels from office equipment and personnel.
