Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

Key Responsibilities
  • Document accounting journal entries and prepare reconciliations for the Western Union Foundation, encompassing grants, contributions, and affiliate transactions.
  • Generate monthly financial statements, providing detailed reports to assist staff in making strategic decisions with financial implications.
  • Compile and present quarterly treasurer's reports to the Foundation's Board of Directors.
  • Examine data to ensure synchronization between Oracle and Foundation databases.
  • Develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Prepare annual audited financial statements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit, including preparing necessary audit work papers and converting accrual-based records to cash-based for tax returns.
  • Prepare federal and state non-profit tax returns, along with related registration paperwork.
  • Assist the Foundation team in preparing reports for board meetings, ensuring grant dockets align with budgets.
  • Oversee the annual Charitable Solicitation filing process.
  • Manage invoicing and receivables collection, including from events.
  • Coordinate with Western Union business units during special partnership initiatives with the Foundation to facilitate funding transfers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is mandatory.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in non-profit (public) accounting or equivalent financial reporting experience.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with various departments and management levels.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Experience with HFM is advantageous.
  • Proficient in advanced system skills, including MS Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with effective planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence others and work effectively across different regions and functions in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, and exercise judgment in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Capability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and produce quality work amidst interruptions.

Compensation

The annual salary range is $90,000 per year, inclusive of a base salary and short-term incentives aligned with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
