POSITION SUMMARY – Laboratory Research Technician

The role involves conducting routine analytical tests in a laboratory setting to characterize crude oil and its derivatives, supporting researchers in the advancement of innovative technologies within the oil and gas sector. The technician will typically operate under the guidance of a senior scientist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare, calibrate, maintain, and clean laboratory analytical instruments.
  • Evaluate test results and experimental data to ensure compliance with quality standards, utilizing advanced analytical techniques such as NMR and GC-MS. Collect, analyze, and document test data to produce reports featuring charts, graphs, and descriptive narratives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
  • 2-4 years of laboratory experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with the principles and practices of analytical testing laboratories.
  • Competence in data analysis and accurate documentation of results.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Natural Sciences, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • High school diploma or GED.
