Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and drive business growth through the origination and relationship management of a sound and growing loan and deposit portfolio. As a key member of our Business Banking Group, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to meet or exceed annual production goals, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and promoting a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Apply product and service knowledge to effectively meet customer and/or prospect banking needs.
  2. Solicit and develop new loan and deposit business to meet or exceed annual production goals.
  3. Collect and analyze financial data of moderate and complex customers and/or prospects to determine credit worthiness and develop an appropriate loan structure.
  4. Determine approval or rejection of loan applications in accordance with bank policy and communicate same to applicant.
  5. Negotiate terms including costs, collateral requirements, repayment methods and rates to successfully obtain new business and retain existing customers.
  6. Monitor loan repayment and assist in collection or coordination of payments to minimize delinquency and meet bank standards.
  7. Conduct periodic customer meetings to enhance customer retention and assist with the annual review process.
  8. Maintain professional communication and conduct with all clients, prospects and associates.
  9. Cross sell additional bank services, making recommendations for customer consideration and referring leads to Consumer, Investment, and Mortgage Sales Associates.
  10. Use all available resources to provide value-added advice and/or recommendations for the potential improvement of customer's business operations, productivity, etc., as appropriate.
  11. Meet and/or exceed all individual sales goals, while assisting the Business Banking Team in accomplishing its Strategic Business Plan and Budget.
  12. Maintain and promote a superior level of professional customer service and Team Member relations at all times. Proactively provide solutions and resolve customer concerns and requests.
  13. Actively participate in community organizations and events to increase the bank's visibility and image in order to build a solid referral network.
  14. Participate in professional organizations to enhance further personal development.
  15. Undertake special projects and/or assignments relating to the Business Banking Group and the bank.
Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A Bachelor's Degree in Business related field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and adequate auto insurance.

  • Technical: Fluency in Jack Henry, loan platform systems or similar financial industry technology, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures and regulations.
