Role Overview:
The Customer Service Representative plays a pivotal role in nurturing relationships with a designated group of clients. This position requires the ability to make informed decisions regarding freight acceptance, particularly during times of limited capacity, ensuring that customer needs and revenue generation are prioritized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer orders through various channels, including phone, email, and EDI, ensuring accurate entry into the TMW Order Management System.
- Proactively solicit freight from clients as directed by the Terminal Manager or Planner, optimizing available capacity.
- Collaborate with customers to adjust scheduled loading and delivery times, maintaining clear communication and updating relevant systems.
- Work closely with Planners, Drivers, and terminal staff to fulfill all customer requirements effectively.
- Monitor all loads in TMW/Peoplenet/Trip alert to identify and address service concerns promptly.
- Coordinate with other departments to secure accurate locations, commodity codes, and credit approvals for all customer interactions.
- Ensure precise data entry and timely updates for terminal billing processes.
- Document all service issues accurately in the NCR system.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience with Google Apps is preferred
- Familiarity with transportation software such as EDI, TMW, and PeopleNet
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
