Role Overview:

The Customer Service Representative plays a pivotal role in nurturing relationships with a designated group of clients. This position requires making informed decisions regarding freight acceptance, particularly when capacity is constrained, ensuring optimal service delivery based on consignee locations and revenue considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process customer orders through various communication channels, ensuring accurate entry into the TMW Order Management System.
  2. Proactively solicit freight from clients as directed by the Terminal Manager or Planner, maximizing available capacity.
  3. Collaborate with clients to adjust scheduled loading and delivery times, ensuring seamless service and timely updates to the TMW system.
  4. Coordinate with Planners, Drivers, and terminal staff to meet all customer requirements effectively.
  5. Monitor all loads using TMW/Peoplenet/Trip alert systems to identify and address service issues proactively.
  6. Engage with other departments to secure correct locations, commodity codes, and credit approvals for all shipments.
  7. Ensure accurate data entry and timely updates for terminal billing processes.
  8. Document all service-related issues in the NCR system for accountability.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience with Google Apps is preferred.
  • Familiarity with transportation software such as EDI, TMW, and PeopleNet.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
