Role Overview

As a vital member of our Software Engineering team, you will contribute to the development of our next-generation product focused on ensuring School Bus Stop safety. This role involves creating edge-based AI models for vehicle detection and tracking.

  • This position requires a C++ software engineering generalist who will produce high-quality C++ code for edge devices.
  • You will enhance the precision of machine learning and computer vision models, including the adaptation of open-source models to address specific challenges faced by Hayden.
  • Collaboration with Product Management will be essential to translate user requirements into effective software solutions.
  • Working in a startup environment means navigating ambiguity and a fast-paced setting.
  • As we enter a phase of organizational growth, your contributions will help establish a robust foundation through well-structured and thoroughly tested code that can be utilized across the company.
Key Responsibilities
  • Produce reliable, rigorously tested C++ code.
  • Continuously improve our real-time vehicle tracking and license plate recognition systems.
  • Optimize image and video processing on the cloud side.
  • Focus on performance optimization, particularly for algorithms tailored to the Nvidia Jetson architecture.
  • Advance the infrastructure and tools for performance analysis to ensure efficient development cycles.
Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficient programming skills in C++.
  • Experience collaborating with fellow software engineers.
    • As we expand, we seek individuals who can thrive in a larger organizational structure.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience.
  • A background in Machine Learning, Image Processing, Computer Vision, or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in embedded systems development.
  • Familiarity with CUDA/OpenCL programming and video processing workflows.
  • Proficient with popular machine learning tools (e.g., Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Experience managing data processing and machine learning code through version control systems like GitHub.
  • Background in mobile application development for iOS or Android beyond user interface design.
  • Experience with robotics systems such as ROS.
