About the Team:The Pricing Systems Team plays a vital role within Voiceflow, focusing on refining pricing strategies and cost management through advanced systems. Our objective is to ensure precise pricing for all Voiceflow services while effectively managing associated expenses. We are responsible for the development and maintenance of two key systems: a machine learning-driven solution that optimizes pricing based on historical data and market dynamics, and a rule-based system that governs the application of charges to each service, ensuring fairness and accuracy.
By enhancing revenue and strategically overseeing pricing mechanisms, we contribute significantly to Voiceflow's financial success and sustainable growth. The efforts of the Pricing Team are crucial in maintaining our competitive advantage, delivering value to our clients while achieving our organizational goals.
Your Responsibilities:- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product managers to translate intricate business challenges into streamlined technical solutions.
- Assist in formulating a technical vision and roadmap in partnership with Product Managers and Engineering Managers.
- Develop robust, secure, and scalable systems within a microservices architecture.
- Address complex system-level challenges, prioritizing simplicity and durability in design. As we transition from monolithic structures, we take pride in modernizing legacy code with a focus on composability.
- Guide and mentor fellow engineers, ensuring a structured onboarding process and ongoing professional development.
- Promote a culture of quality and reliability, utilizing metrics and retrospectives to foster continuous improvement.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.
- Proven experience in architecting and building complex, enterprise-level systems in a distributed environment.
- A willingness to expand your technical toolkit; while we are open to various backgrounds, our platform utilizes technologies such as AWS, Kotlin, Java, and Ruby.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading a team of engineers and guiding them through intricate technical decision-making processes.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including business partners and product teams.
- Experience navigating ambiguity and contributing to product development in early-stage phases.
