Service Operations Manager Job Description

McFarlanes is seeking a highly skilled Service Operations Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our Ag Service Department.


Job Summary

Plan and coordinate tasks for the Ag Service Department, maintaining systems and procedures to optimize operating efficiency.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate service activities, programs, and projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to established specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental functions to minimize delays and ensure seamless communication.
  • Meet with departmental members regularly to review project status and plan future actions.
  • Ensure technicians verify customer information and provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Accurately provide ag service estimates and detail work orders utilizing mechanic information.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of the service desk area and support functions for time/job recording.
  • Collect payment for work performed and perform additional duties as requested.
  • Regularly scheduled attendance and a strong commitment to teamwork.

Requirements
  • Two-year technical degree in an agricultural equipment or diesel service-related field.
  • Four years of prior experience working as a technician, preferably in a service writing role.
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with a variety of engine service-related processes and materials.
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment

This position requires occasional sitting, walking, and talking. The employee will work in a service setting, utilizing office equipment such as computers and phones. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
