JOB SUMMARY: The Precision Ag Technician is responsible for the installation of systems and equipment, along with providing technical assistance for designated product lines. This role involves delivering solutions to meet customer needs, which include both new and used agricultural machinery and related technologies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborating with a dedicated service team to ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction, while nurturing existing client relationships and exploring new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer in-season technological support.
  • Stay updated on agronomy practices and common agricultural planting, tillage, and harvesting methods in the region, making recommendations to enhance customer operations through existing and innovative technologies.
  • Provide technical assistance on precision products.
  • Assist with technical support for planters.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is crucial for this role.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in Agricultural Mechanics/Technology or a related field is preferred.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of precision agriculture practices, with extensive knowledge of agricultural technology products and their functionalities on farms, machinery, and mechanics; ability to repair and maintain precision equipment.
  3. Prior experience in the repair and maintenance of planters is essential.
  4. Strong work ethic and self-motivation; capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  5. Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by the company.
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends as required.
  7. Ability to travel for ongoing education in precision agriculture.
  8. Must provide personal tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: The role requires regular communication and listening. It involves driving, standing, walking, sitting, and using computers, printers, and telephones. Close and distant vision is necessary. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required. The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Compensation is based on experience.
