Job Summary:

The Polysomnography Sleep Technologist is responsible for carrying out all technical duties for the Sleep Center under the supervision of the medical director or designee. This includes comprehensive evaluation of sleep disorders, polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, research, and patient care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and makes adjustments, if necessary.
  • Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards and performs appropriate physiologic calibrations.
  • Documents routine observations, changes in procedure, and significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
  • Participates in endeavors to increase polysomnography knowledge and serves as a resource and consultant to staff.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED Required
  • Technical Diploma Polysomnography, Respiratory Therapy or EEG Program Required
  • Associate's Degree Preferred
  • At least one (1) year experience Required
  • At least two (2) years Polysomnography Technology or Respiratory Therapy experience Preferred
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) (Pennsylvania) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists - upon hire - Required and Basic Life Support (BLS) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex.
