Position: Research Scientist - Virology

The George Washington University is on the lookout for a dedicated Research Scientist with expertise in Virology to contribute to our innovative team focused on the development of viral vectored vaccines aimed at eliciting targeted immune responses.

We seek an individual who is eager to learn and thrive in a dynamic research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and oversee research activities within a controlled laboratory environment.
  • Develop and implement experiments utilizing recombinant viral technologies.
  • Evaluate and interpret research data, disseminate findings through publications, and represent the institution at academic conferences.
  • Mentor junior research personnel and share technical knowledge.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a PhD with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in working with adenovirus, adeno-associated virus, and/or lentivirus-based vectors.
  • Capability to work autonomously, solve problems efficiently, and manage time effectively.
  • Experience in the design, rescue, and characterization of DNA/RNA viruses.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Meticulous record-keeping and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work with viral proteins.

Compensation Range:

$89,000 - $130,317.91

Employment Type:

Full-Time, On-site position.
