About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at AESC US LLC. As a key member of our Global Industrial Development team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to lead in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fire Protection Manager/Engineering SME: Serve as the primary point of contact for all design-related questions and provide technical expertise and guidance from inception through design, construction, to turn-over phase.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct periodic quality control reviews to assess compliance and address any deficiencies or deviations. Perform QAQC of project interim deliverable packages (30%, 60%, 90%, IFC).
  • Stakeholder / Client / Team Coordination: Foster positive and collaborative relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service. Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to drive solutions, develop comprehensive project plans, and design strategies.
  • Construction Administration: Conduct project site visits as required for monitoring progress, quality, adherence to design standards, and turnover acceptance/Punch List as Owner's Rep.
  • Contracts: Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contracts and agreements with contractors, consultants, and/or suppliers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in overseeing Owner's Capital Development projects in medical, industrial, and/or scientific laboratory facilities, through the entire project life cycle, from inception to turn-over.
  • Demonstrated experience in the following:
    • Life Safety / Means of Egress code analysis, including smoke modeling and rationale analysis.
    • AHJ interface for permitting and/or inspection.
    • Hazardous materials analysis (HMIS and HMMP).
    • High-pile storage analysis and design, including Commodity Fire Classification.
    • In-rack equipment fire suppression design.
    • Clean Agent fire suppression system design.
    • Fire alarm design.
    • CSI Specifications coordination.
  • Possess experience in Type I or Type II Construction types, either new construction/group-up and/or remodel.
  • Knowledge of IBC, IFC, and NFPA.
  • CSI specifications applicable to project scope.
  • Experience in EV and/or battery manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, Revit, CAD.
  • Excellent time management, effective communication in both verbal and written, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Registered Fire Protection (PE) preferred.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards.
