Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Industrial Development (GID) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your mechanical engineering expertise to influence the future of sustainable energy solutions. Your contributions will play a vital role in the development of advanced battery manufacturing facilities, making a significant impact on the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Innovative Design: Collaborate with a team of specialists to conceptualize, design, and develop state-of-the-art mechanical systems for battery manufacturing facilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize your extensive design experience to create detailed and precise system designs. Conduct QAQC reviews of project deliverables to ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including ASME, NFPA, and ASHRAE.
  • Sustainable Practices: Integrate sustainable design principles and energy-efficient methodologies into your engineering work.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, process, and controls engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Over 8 years of experience in the design of mechanical systems for industrial facilities and utility infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience in large-scale, high-volume, and high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems design, including dry systems (HVAC, CR/DR mechanical systems) and wet systems (process distribution piping, air compressors, vacuum systems, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with applicable design guides and standards related to utility systems.
  • Experience with system modeling using Pipe Flo or similar simulation software is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in CFD analysis is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards.
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 environmental standards.
