Role Overview

Embark on a rewarding career as a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer within our dynamic GID Engineering team. Your contributions will directly affect the development of advanced battery manufacturing facilities, making a tangible difference in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Innovative Design: Work alongside a team of specialists to conceptualize, design, and develop pioneering mechanical systems for state-of-the-art battery manufacturing facilities. Your creativity and analytical skills will be essential in enhancing system performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Technical Proficiency: Leverage your extensive design experience to create detailed and precise system designs. Your expertise will facilitate seamless project coordination and collaboration. Conduct QAQC reviews of project deliverables and ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee adherence to all pertinent codes, standards, and regulations, including ASME, NFPA, and ASHRAE, ensuring the safety and reliability of our facilities.
  • Sustainability Focus: Incorporate sustainable design principles and energy-efficient practices into your work, playing a crucial role in minimizing the environmental impact of our facilities and promoting sustainable manufacturing methods.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, process, and controls engineers, to deliver high-quality and integrated mechanical systems. Your strong communication skills will foster a positive and productive work environment.
    • Actively participate in project meetings, presentations, and progress reports, effectively addressing issues and providing recommendations.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with project engineering teams, understanding their needs and delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in designing mechanical systems for industrial facilities.
  • Significant experience in large-scale, high-volume manufacturing environments with complex process infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems design, including dry and wet systems.
  • Familiarity with applicable design guides and standards related to utility systems.
  • Experience with system modeling and simulation software is advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities and a quick learning aptitude.
  • Familiarity with IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards is beneficial.
  • Understanding of ISO14001 environmental standards is a plus.
