POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Childcare Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for infants. Your contributions will help ensure that each child receives the attention and care they need to thrive.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist the lead educator in executing planned lessons and activities while tracking the developmental milestones of the children.
  2. Adhere to the established lesson plans and daily schedules as outlined by the lead educator.
  3. Engage in collaborative planning sessions.
  4. Document observations regarding developmental progress and behavioral issues as instructed by the lead educator.
  5. Encourage and facilitate children's learning through active participation.
  6. Provide care for children requiring feeding, changing, or other assistance.
  7. Oversee outdoor play activities to ensure safety and engagement.
PARENTAL ENGAGEMENT
  1. Foster positive and open communication with all families.
  2. Greet parents by name during drop-off and pick-up times.
  3. Regularly highlight the achievements and positive behaviors of children to parents.
  4. Document and communicate any behavioral concerns to the lead educator.
  5. Direct parental inquiries to the lead educator or program director as necessary.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
  1. Organize and maintain classroom supplies and equipment in a safe manner.
  2. Complete attendance and meal service records as required.
  3. Ensure the classroom environment supports smooth transitions and independent learning.
  4. Keep storage areas organized and tidy.
  5. Follow the posted cleaning schedule and address additional cleaning needs as they arise.
  6. Display children's work and classroom materials in an orderly fashion.
ENSURE A SAFE AND CLEAN ENVIRONMENT
  1. Lift and carry children as necessary.
  2. Comply with all program guidelines regarding food service and sanitation.
  3. Timely complete accident and incident reports, ensuring proper documentation and communication with parents.
  4. Implement discipline practices in line with organizational policies and regulations.
  5. Support individualized behavior plans as directed by the lead educator.
  6. Report any work-related injuries immediately and document them appropriately.
  7. Notify the lead educator or director of any suspicions of child abuse or neglect.
  8. Assist with toilet training and manage accidents with care.
  9. Help prepare for meals and snacks, supervising children during family-style dining.
  10. Sanitize dining areas after each meal or snack.
  11. Participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.
  12. Adhere to the program's dress code and maintain professional appearance.
  13. Ensure consistent attendance and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  14. Exemplify the core values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Caring in all interactions.
  15. Complete required in-service training hours as specified.
  16. Demonstrate a clear understanding of the program's philosophy, policies, and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least one year of experience in program management, with a preference for backgrounds in social services or behavior management.
  3. Certification in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  4. Completion of New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire.
  5. A minimum of six months of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Ability to communicate effectively and monitor activities visually and audibly.
  2. Capability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  3. Ability to bend and squat repeatedly.
  4. Capacity to stand or walk for extended periods.
  5. Willingness to engage in light physical activities.
  6. Maintain a positive demeanor to create an encouraging atmosphere for all.
  7. Present a neat and professional appearance at all times.
