The HR Business Partner plays a critical role in aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units to drive results. This position provides human resources consultation and support on employee-related issues, acting as an employee champion and change agent to optimize productivity and acceptance.
Key Responsibilities:- Provides HR expertise in areas such as feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, Talent Management, and Employment Law.
- Participates in employee relations and consults with line management to provide HR guidance when appropriate.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues, conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations, and maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and retention.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation, develops contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers, and identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Business Administration, with a CHRP designation or CPHR designation completed or in progress.
- Over 7 years of experience in a Human Resource environment.
- General knowledge of training and development, experience using HRIS and other related systems, and general understanding of Prevailing Wage/Labor Certified Payroll.
- General knowledge of compensation, pension, and benefits, and occupational health and safety.
- Adherence to the highest ethical standards, demonstrating accountability, integrity, and transparency in actions at all times.
- Motivated team player with a demonstrated passion for exceptional customer service, building partnerships, and sustaining cooperative working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to deal with sensitive, confidential information and documentation with discretion and tact.
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
- Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
- Presentation and facilitation skills required to speak and deliver training programs.
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and composition.
- Ability to work well with others and independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
- Travel to other work locations may be required from time to time.
