Job Summary

The Sacramento County CA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Account Clerk to join our team. As a Senior Account Clerk, you will be responsible for advanced clerical accounting duties, including the preparation, maintenance, review, auditing, and processing of financial and statistical records, reports, and claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed financial records, reports, and claims.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Process financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and reconciliations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and train subordinate staff to ensure effective workflow and productivity.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve financial operations and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and laws affecting financial operations.

Requirements

  • Two years of paid, full-time experience employed by Sacramento County in the class of Account Clerk.
  • Or: Three years of paid, full-time experience preparing or reconciling financial or statistical records.
  • Completion of 30 semester units (45 quarter units) including two mathematics, bookkeeping, or accounting courses, from an accredited college or business school may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid California Driver License, Class C or higher.
  • Ability to speak, read, and/or write fluently in a language other than English.

Working Conditions

The probationary period for this classification is six (6) months.
