Position Overview
As a pivotal member of the Patient Accounts Administration, the Senior Financial Accountant serves as a key liaison in general accounting functions. This role is instrumental in crafting recommendations and financial models aimed at enhancing the accuracy of financial recording and reporting within the Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities
1. **Reconciliation Duties**: Ensure timely reconciliation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial transactions in alignment with established policies and internal controls.
2. **Detailed Reporting**: Generate comprehensive reconciliation reports that meticulously compare patient accounts against deposits and accounts receivable ledgers.
3. **Financial Analysis**: Conduct in-depth financial analyses and prepare reports, including variance analyses and other ad-hoc financial documents for various organizational levels.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance, complemented by relevant work experience.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices, particularly within a Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) framework.
- Proven experience in managing and reporting large datasets efficiently.
- Familiarity with Decision Support data and proficiency in financial systems such as Lawson and EPIC is preferred.

Skills Required
- Strong analytical capabilities to assess data, draw conclusions, and develop insightful reports.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues and management across diverse levels.
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
