Position: Clinical Anesthesiologist at VCU Health - MCV Physicians

Location: Richmond, VA

Objective: The Department of Anesthesiology is dedicated to providing exceptional anesthetic services and critical care to patients, enhancing research and quality improvement in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine, and educating future anesthesiologists through comprehensive training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Education: Deliver clinical instruction to residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. Engage in educational programs, conferences, and departmental meetings as necessary.
  • Research Activities: Undertake clinical or laboratory research in accordance with established guidelines. Participate in clinical trials aligned with personal interests.
  • Community Service: Contribute to committees as requested. Emphasize the significance of institutional citizenship and community involvement.
  • Clinical Duties: Administer anesthesiology care across various settings. Oversee Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • ABA board eligible/certified in anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia and the United States
  • Strong communication, clinical, and educational abilities
  • Experience in promoting a diverse and inclusive environment
