Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Visual Merchandising Designer II. This position involves the conceptualization, coordination, and effective implementation of visual merchandising displays for both periodic global launches and permanent installations across various retail environments. The primary objective is to maintain a cohesive aesthetic at retail counters while enhancing the brand's image to ensure a robust presence in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop visually striking designs based on creative briefs that align with overall channel aesthetics.
  • Collaborate with essential stakeholders, including Marketing and Sales, to optimize designs for product launches and installations.
  • Engage with global teams and store design to ensure merchandising solutions convey a unified brand message across diverse retail settings.
  • Oversee the complete execution of visual merchandising projects, managing all phases effectively.
  • Create standout shelf displays informed by competitive analysis to highlight new product introductions.
  • Design a variety of assets for global launches, seasonal programs, and enduring artwork materials.
  • Establish guidelines and maintain graphic templates for regional adaptation to local retail fixtures.
  • Prepare and distribute production graphics under tight deadlines as required.
  • Render visual representations of gondolas, stores, and product launches to illustrate graphic layouts in context.
  • Participate in meetings, present design concepts, and provide updates on project statuses as necessary.
  • Develop digital guidelines and presentations for internal and external use regarding open sell systems.
  • Create customized merchandising units tailored to specific sales, marketing, and regional needs each season.
  • Design dedicated spaces for animations and formulate directives for global implementation.
  • Generate spatial design solutions across various scales while adhering to approved brand guidelines.
  • Translate global merchandising strategies into applicable regional store formats.
  • Revise merchandising guides, checklists, floor plans, and schematics for retail channels.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of materials, costs, and timelines for project execution.
  • Possess an understanding of materials and manufacturing processes related to shelving and display components, proposing feasible design solutions within budgetary constraints.
  • Stay informed about current trends in visual arts and merchandising.
  • Assess creative requests and formulate initial design proposals with minimal guidance.
  • Develop and present design concepts to various levels of management.
  • Exhibit strong time management skills, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Show exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
  • Display ambition, enthusiasm, and adaptability.
  • Effectively convey ideas and concepts through visual means.
  • Work independently and take initiative in design projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising, visual display, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Sketch-Up is essential.
  • Experience with PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Sketchup.
  • Background in visual merchandising design, including tester displays and gondola designs.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure creative environment.
  • Ability to multitask with agility.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and imaginative with a grasp of 3D design principles.
  • Capable of taking direction while also working independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of retail trends.
  • Willingness to work in-office three days a week.
