Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a talented Visual Merchandising Designer II to lead the design and implementation of visual merchandising strategies. This role involves the creative conceptualization, coordination, and execution of merchandising displays for both seasonal and permanent installations across diverse retail environments. The primary objective is to maintain a cohesive brand image while enhancing the overall customer experience in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate creative briefs into visually compelling designs that are easy to navigate and align with overall brand aesthetics.
  • Collaborate with essential stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Sales) to ensure designs effectively support product launches and installations.
  • Engage with global teams and store design to comprehend fixture requirements in various retail settings, ensuring merchandising solutions convey a unified brand message.
  • Oversee the execution of all visual merchandising projects, managing different phases to ensure timely delivery.
  • Analyze competitive displays to create standout shelf presentations that emphasize new product introductions.
  • Design a range of assets for global launches, seasonal initiatives, and ongoing marketing efforts (e.g., headers, end caps, display units).
  • Establish guidelines and maintain graphic templates for regional adaptation to local retail fixtures.
  • Prepare and distribute production-ready graphics while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Render visual representations of gondolas, stores, and product launches to illustrate graphic layouts in context.
  • Participate in meetings to present design concepts and provide updates on project statuses as needed.
  • Create digital guidelines and presentations for internal and external use regarding open sell systems.
  • Develop unique merchandising units tailored to specific sites, addressing seasonal sales and marketing requests.
  • Design dedicated spaces for product animation and create directives for global implementation.
  • Provide spatial design solutions across various scales while upholding approved brand direction.
  • Adapt global merchandising strategies to fit regional store formats.
  • Revise merchandising guides, checklists, floor plans, and schematics for retail channels.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of materials, costs, and timelines for project execution.
  • Possess knowledge of shelf, accessory, and component materials and manufacturing processes, proposing feasible design solutions within budgetary constraints.
  • Stay informed about current trends in visual arts and merchandising.
  • Assess creative requests and formulate initial design proposals with minimal guidance.
  • Develop and present concepts to various levels of management.
  • Exhibit strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
  • Show ambition, enthusiasm, and flexibility in work approach.
  • Effectively convey ideas and concepts through visual means.
  • Work independently and take initiative in design projects.
  • Exhibit innovative thinking in design solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising, visual display, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Sketch-Up is essential.
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Sketchup.
  • Experience in visual merchandising design, including tester displays and gondola layouts.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure creative environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks with agility.
  • Self-starter with flexibility and creativity in 3D design.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as needed.
  • Knowledge of retail trends and practices.
  • Willingness to work in the office three days a week.
