Position Overview:

Our client is seeking to hire a Senior Visual Merchandising Specialist. This role involves the creative design, coordination, and effective implementation of visual merchandising displays for both seasonal global launches and permanent retail units across diverse retail settings. The primary objective is to maintain a cohesive aesthetic at the point of sale while enhancing the brand's image in a competitive market landscape. This position encompasses the design, development, and execution of merchandising units related to both ongoing and seasonal initiatives for the brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate creative briefs into visually striking designs that are easy to navigate and align with overall channel aesthetics.
  • Collaborate with essential stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Sales) to ensure designs maximize impact for each product launch and installation.
  • Engage with global teams (Marketing, Project Management, Creative Management, etc.) and store design to comprehend fixture requirements in various retail environments, ensuring that merchandising solutions convey a unified brand message.
  • Oversee the complete execution of all visual merchandising requests, managing project phases effectively.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to create shelf displays that differentiate from competitors and emphasize new product introductions.
  • Design a diverse range of assets for global launches, seasonal programs, and ongoing artwork (e.g., front strips, toppers, headers, trend displayers, end caps).
  • Establish guidelines and maintain graphic templates/codes and 2D planograms for regional adaptation to local retail fixtures.
  • Prepare, package, and distribute graphics for production as required, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Render gondolas, stores, and product launches to illustrate graphic layouts in context.
  • Participate in meetings, present design concepts, and report on project statuses as necessary.
  • Create digital guidelines and presentations for open sell systems for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • In addition to standard units, develop site-specific, one-off merchandising units tailored to seasonal sales, marketing, and regional requests.
  • Design dedicated "animation spaces" and formulate directives for global execution.
  • Develop spatial design solutions across various scales while adhering to approved brand direction and style.
  • Adapt global merchandising strategies to fit regional store formats.
  • Update merchandising guides, checklists, floor plans, and schematics for retail channels.
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of materials, costs, and timelines associated with projects.
  • Possess knowledge of shelf, accessory, and component materials and manufacturing processes, proposing innovative and feasible design solutions that align with technical and budgetary constraints.
  • Stay informed about current trends in visual arts and merchandising.
  • Assess creative requests and formulate initial design proposals with minimal guidance.
  • Develop and present concepts to various levels of management.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
  • Be ambitious, enthusiastic, and adaptable.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising, visual display, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Sketch-Up is essential.
  • Experience with PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Sketchup.
  • Background in visual merchandising design, including tester displays and gondola designs.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure creative environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with agility.
  • Self-starter with flexibility and creativity, possessing an understanding of 3D design.
  • Able to follow direction while working independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of retail trends.
  • Willingness to work in the office three days a week.
