Position Overview

As a Registered Nurse in Hospice Care, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate support to patients with terminal illnesses.

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Work Schedule: Day Shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (08:25 - 17:30)

Compensation: $43 - $47 per hour

Requirements: Active South Carolina RN license or compact license is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, and nursing assistants, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Develop and modify individualized care plans based on patient needs.
  • Conduct regular visits to assess patients' vital signs and comfort levels.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and manage pain relief medications.
  • Communicate any changes in patients' health status to the medical team.
  • Provide education and emotional support to families and primary caregivers regarding patient care and end-of-life issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient documentation.
  • Inform relevant parties of patient deaths in a timely manner.
  • Offer guidance to bereaved family members on coping strategies and available resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Must possess state licensure and RN certification.
  • Preferred: Certification in hospice and palliative care.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in hospice nursing is required.
