Overview:

Position Summary:


The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will collaborate with the 3rd shift Radiography supervisors and General foreman to ensure meticulous planning of radiography operations. This role is crucial in maintaining effective communication with relevant personnel and minimizing disruptions to operational schedules.

The specialist will be tasked with creating comprehensive work packages that encompass all necessary documentation for various inspection activities, including surveys, OPCON inspections, and NDT inspections within the shipyard environment.

Additionally, the role involves conducting thorough reviews of work sites to ensure all critical factors are considered prior to the commencement of inspections, such as staging, lighting, electrical requirements, and tank watch protocols.

Another key responsibility includes gathering and analyzing radiography performance metrics, including data on re-inspections and rework, sourced from end-of-shift inspection logs. This analysis is vital for identifying and addressing obstacles that hinder the successful execution of radiography tasks.

The candidate will also be expected to qualify for RT oversight, coordinate training sessions, and manage the submission of RT lots to the appropriate authorities.


Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to resolve documentation-related challenges. Independent thinking and effective problem-solving capabilities are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications:

Required:
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and procedures
- At least 3 years of experience in a shipyard setting
- IRRSP qualification
- MDD-01270 certification
- Internal candidates must originate from departments outside of Operations.

Preferred:
- Prior experience with quality inspection protocols and applicable SSPs is advantageous
- Familiarity with EB's inspection activities and certification processes
- Experience with various RT and inspection documentation (e.g., SWSS/ERS weld tickets, CPJ 905 cards, RUT's, TIR's, ripouts) is highly desirable
- Proficiency in EB's electronic systems (MQS, ERS, CPJ, Cornerstone, MS Office Suite)
- Over 5 years of shipyard experience, including new construction and overhaul/PSA work.

Skills:

The candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be adept at resolving documentation issues. Independent thinking and problem-solving abilities are crucial for this position.
