Role Overview: The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in providing centralized quality engineering support to manage overflow activities at external suppliers. This position emphasizes data compilation, First Article Inspection (FAI), and collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure the progress of critical aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Collect and compile data from Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and input findings into the non-conformance system.
  • Quality Engineering Support: Act as the Quality Engineer for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and assist in FAI and significant production substantiation efforts for critical components.
  • Collaboration: Engage in producibility action work sessions with assigned suppliers.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Provide electronic documentation and weekly project status updates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality engineering, ideally within the aerospace sector.
  • Familiarity with CMM data compilation and nonconformance data entry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in quality management systems and tools.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant certifications in quality engineering or assurance are advantageous.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to the nature of the work.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional involvement on the shop floor.
  • Significant amounts of telephone and computer work.
  • Work in heavily regulated industries requiring strict adherence to procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines, including potential early arrivals or late departures.
  • Standard work hours of 8 hours per day, with core hours from 9 AM to 4 PM.
  • Ability to use personal transportation for visits to customer locations.
