Job Title: Senior Product Development Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Development Engineer to join our team at ShiftCode Analytics. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, improving existing ones, and providing technical support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Design and Development: Conceptualize and design new products, special products, and contribute to the improvement of existing products and manufacturing methods to meet customer demands.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support, product development, and assistance both internally and externally.
  • Engineering Consultant: Function as an engineering consultant to manufacturing on problems related to the manufacture of our products.
  • Product Design Requirements: Provide product design requirements to product designers assigned to specific projects and assure that all detailed process step drawings are in conformance to the requirements and technical specifications.
  • Technical Presentations: Work with customers to resolve technical problems and make technical presentations with the Sales Engineers at target accounts.
  • Product Performance: Review of new applications and provide technical solutions to ensure product performance.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Establish bearing testing requirements and test plans and report test results to customers to gain product approval.
  • Product Launch: Responsible for establishing new products into the MRP AS400 system and creating the associated Bill-of-Material.
  • Design Approval: Responsible for approving new product designs and releasing designs to manufacturing.
  • Lean Enterprise: Supports lean enterprise activities in support of API Plant objectives.
  • Training and Development: May train other less senior Product Engineers.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in design drafting, mechanical design, or manufacturing methods and/or related engineering field in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills and Abilities: Bearing design principles and practices, mechanical design principles and practices, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, company products and manufacturing processes, ITAR Regulations, familiarity with and ability to interpret customer and industry standards and specifications, lean enterprise methods, solid modeling CAD software, computer skills, familiarity with various operating systems, knowledge of bearing test lab equipment and capabilities, bearing failure evaluation and analysis, ability to analyze data to make decisions relative to product performance and manufacturing, ability to create and make technical presentations, and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
