Position Overview

The Patient Care Coordination Assistant plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of the designated Nursing Unit, working closely with physician leadership. This position is integral to the strategic development of the department and holds responsibility for nursing services during the assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to individuals across all age groups and their families.
  • Employ nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care.
  • Develop nursing diagnoses to address actual or potential health issues, while providing education and support.
  • Delegate suitable tasks to nursing support staff, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Uphold professional standards as outlined by The Brooklyn Hospital Center's care protocols and institutional mission.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing School.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from recognized institutions is highly preferred.
  • Experience in an Emergency Room setting ranging from one to three years.
  • Leadership experience is an advantage.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
  • Completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, to be completed within 90 days of hire and renewed biennially.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including ALLSCRIPTS and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
