Position Overview
This individual contributor role is integral to the financial operations at Dominion Energy, focusing on the DEV/CE business segments. The selected candidate will engage in various assignments and analyses related to specialized accounting projects, some of which may involve intricate details.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing recommended accounting positions for current or proposed transactions.
  • Reviewing new or modified contracts and consulting on business development activities.
  • Assessing and implementing new accounting standards.
  • Interacting with colleagues across the organization and providing guidance to less experienced accountants.
  • Facilitating the review and compilation of comments on quarterly and annual SEC filings.
  • Monitoring the status and completeness of SOX control procedures.
  • Conducting periodic update meetings with other accounting groups on current issues.
  • Peer reviewing account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 6 years of accounting experience or 5 years in public accounting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly around complex accounting and business concepts.
  • The ability to problem-solve independently and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • CPA certification or being a CPA candidate is strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is essential.
  • A customer-service focus with a capacity to contribute innovative ideas and see them through to implementation.

Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required. Preferred disciplines include Accounting, Business, or Finance.

Licenses and Certifications
Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
