Position Summary
We are in search of a Senior Accountant who will be instrumental in overseeing financial documentation within our Deltek Costpoint-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role involves establishing cost accounting methodologies and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC, requiring the Senior Accountant to be present onsite 1-2 days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    Generate financial statements in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    Assist with the Annual Small Business Administration (SBA) Audit.
    Compile various accounting and financial reports as needed.
    Prepare year-end closeout documents and collaborate with tax accountants for annual tax filings.
    Establish indirect rates and cost pools in compliance with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) regulations and support DCAA audits.
  • Audits & Reconciliation:
    Provide audit assistance for Payroll, 401(k), Health Insurance, Group Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Banking, and company credit card transactions.
    Conduct monthly credit card and benefits reconciliations.
    Prepare Month-End Close and monthly reconciliation reports.
  • Accounts Management:
    Oversee both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring accurate revenue recognition, general ledger management, cost allocations, and indirect rates.
    Monitor revenue, costs, and profitability, offering insights into project performance for Project Managers.
  • Project & Cost Management:
    Set up and maintain all projects for Time and Materials (T&M), Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), and Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) Contracts.
    Prepare biweekly journal entries for the general ledger using Deltek Costpoint by calculating and gathering necessary data.
    Assist in pricing for cost proposals and provide cost buildup for projects.
  • Process Improvement:
    Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Accounting Policies and Procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting functions for a federal contracting firm.
  • 2+ years of experience with business intelligence (BI) tools for report creation.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP standards and government contracting regulations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly Deltek Costpoint.
  • Experience supporting DCAA audits.
  • Experience in cost proposal development.
