Overview:

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for animal welfare? The role of Chief Officer at the ASPCA's Cruelty Recovery Center offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in providing care for animals rescued from cruelty and disaster situations. This center is home to a skilled group of professionals committed to ensuring the well-being of animal victims.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Program Management (40%):

  • Guide the CRC team, assigning tasks to ensure efficient operations and comprehensive care.
  • Establish adaptable communication strategies to meet evolving needs.
  • Ensure staff receive thorough training and comply with organizational protocols.
  • Oversee decision-making processes, manage volunteer initiatives, and ensure facility upkeep.
  • Administer budgetary considerations, engage in field support, and maintain inter-team communication.

Team Development and Management (40%):

  • Foster a supportive environment that aligns staff with ASPCA objectives.
  • Supervise Senior Directors and manage a diverse workforce.
  • Encourage accountability, promote a positive team culture, and support staff resilience.
  • Effectively recruit and onboard new team members.

Collaboration and Additional Duties (20%):

  • Maintain open lines of communication with other Rehabilitation Services teams and engage in collaborative efforts.
  • Assist in case planning discussions, efficiently identify solutions, and provide testimony in legal proceedings.
  • Support the Learning Lab team and guide the CRC in contributing to research initiatives.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
