Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for our Maternity Support Services (MSS) Program in Vancouver, WA. The successful candidate will support women in accomplishing self-care and decision making for their health and well-being during pregnancy and the post-pregnancy period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and observe client needs with regards to understanding of pre and postnatal care and educate accordingly.
  • Ongoing ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and recognize cultural, environmental and socio-economic factors that may affect a client's ability to receive, comprehend and retain information.
  • Participate in monthly provider meetings and attend Community First Steps meetings quarterly.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Requirements
  • BSN/RN with recent maternal/infant, community, or public health experience.
  • Experience in patient counseling and education, lactation consultation experience and training and/or certified Childbirth Educator is preferred.
  • Effective oral/written communication skills, assessment and intervention skills, ability to recognize and support health behavior change.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.
  • Must have access to an insured vehicle, and be able to make home visits.
Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $82,617.60 annually, based on an hourly rate of $39.72.
