Refrigeration Systems Technician - Mobile Solutions



Position Overview:
The Refrigeration Systems Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, overhauling, adjusting, and repairing various motor truck and trailer equipment, with a primary emphasis on the maintenance of refrigeration units designed for commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive maintenance services, focusing on refrigeration units such as Carrier and Thermo King systems tailored for commercial trucks and trailers.
  • Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment to assess lines, components, and connections.
  • Interpret complex schematics related to refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Identify and document warrantable repairs on repair orders.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform road tests on vehicles as needed to diagnose issues or confirm proper functionality.
  • Execute tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Employ hand tools and power tools, including pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and tractor-trailer upkeep as directed by management.
  • Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of components to ensure compliance with factory specifications.
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in tractor-trailer maintenance is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Vocational/Technical training or certification is preferred.
  • Specialized training and experience in refrigeration component overhaul are essential.
  • ASE Certification is advantageous.
  • 608/609 certifications are preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of essential tools of the trade is required.
  • A current CDL license with air brake certification is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, are required.
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled environments is necessary.
  • Must adhere to specific instructions, guidelines, and safety regulations established by management.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a critical function of the role.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and comply with all pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings, is mandatory.


This position is subject to regulations by the Department of Transportation, and the ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and safety is required. Associates must take responsibility for their own safety and that of others.

Associates must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
