About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Loan Support Specialist to join our team at Mountain West Bank. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our loan processing and servicing functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and assemble commercial loan documentation, including loan agreements, collateral assignments, and other related documents.
  • Verify the accuracy of loan documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Book and service commercial loans, including processing payments, setting up and changing Automated Funds Transfer (AFT) arrangements, and waiving late fees.
  • Perform routine loan maintenance duties, such as processing payments, setting up and changing AFTs, and correcting and reversing loan payments.
  • Process commercial loan payoffs and document the release of collateral as approved.
  • Conduct reviews of commercial loan files, assemble files, and notate, follow-up, and track exceptions.
  • Research unposted and Work-In-Progress (WIP)/GL items and make necessary corrections to loans.
  • Perform check backs on all commercial loans booked, track errors, and follow up on corrections.
  • Complete necessary tasks for Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Loan Application Register (LAR) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) reporting.
  • Provide prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Participate in community service activities.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of experience in commercial loan policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of banking policies and procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle complex tasks efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within strict timeframes and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good knowledge of basic office equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Thorough understanding of required documentation and signature requirements for various entities.
  • Thorough understanding of title reports and proper vesting to ensure lien position.
Preferred Skills, Education, and Training:
  • Prior banking experience.
  • Knowledge of Mountain West Bank's systems and programs.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment, including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.

Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management.

Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include:

  • Sedentary work.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include:

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as:
  • Preparing and analyzing data and figures.
  • Transcribing.
