The State of Idaho is looking for a dedicated Senior Procurement Specialist. This role is essential for our operational efficiency and will involve collaborating with various departments to ensure effective purchasing practices.

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for acquiring supplies, services, materials, and equipment for the department. Key duties include:
  • Assessing product and service needs;
  • Determining acquisition methods;
  • Preparing specifications and managing competitive solicitations;
  • Evaluating responses and making award recommendations;
  • Advising stakeholders on procurement policies and procedures;
  • Performing additional related tasks as required.
Research and Analysis

The role also involves conducting thorough research to identify suitable products and services for departmental use. Responsibilities include:
  • Gathering information on potential products and services;
  • Attending industry events to engage with vendors;
  • Performing detailed value analyses based on quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
Minimum Qualifications

Candidates should have experience in:
  • Reviewing purchasing documents for compliance;
  • Developing and evaluating specifications for products and services;
  • Interpreting public procurement procedures.
Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:
  • A minimum of two years in a public procurement setting;
  • Experience with RFQs, ITBs, and RFPs;
  • Strong writing and communication skills;
  • Knowledge of public procurement laws and policies.
