We are seeking a highly skilled Project Reliability Engineer I to join our team at Saint-Gobain. This role will be responsible for planning and executing projects to improve plant operations and engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and improve operations, efficiency, and safety
- Analyze data to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement
- Develop new or modify existing equipment, machines, or processes to improve product quality, service reliability, reduce costs, or increase capacity
- Perform calculations and cost estimates of mechanical systems
- Plan project work through team coordination meetings and scheduling
- Consult with manufacturing operations, engineers, and maintenance personnel on projects, problems, and techniques to resolve critical situations expeditiously and achieve production goals
- Update and maintain current documentation of specifications, drawings, and safety procedures
- Knowledgeable in the effective use of Six Sigma principles, tools, and methods
- Define problems of requesting departments and translate them into engineering solutions through innovation and advanced engineering approaches to respond in an efficient and timely manner to production needs and requirements
- Apply WCM tools to projects and processes to improve quality, reduce defects, and thereby improve costs
- Report all EH&S incidents - Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental, and Property/Equipment Damage
- Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities
- Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Experience with identifying root cause and failure analysis
- Ability to develop and implement improvement projects towards improving processes and/or equipment
- Proven ability in problem analysis and resolution
- Must have good "interpersonal skills" to work effectively with personnel throughout all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Advanced computer skills with emphasis in Microsoft Office Programs
- Six Sigma experience and working knowledge is a plus. Experience with 2D AutoCAD
