Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and improve operations, efficiency, and safety
  • Analyze data to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement
  • Develop new or modify existing equipment, machines, or processes to improve product quality, service reliability, reduce costs, or increase capacity
  • Perform calculations and cost estimates of mechanical systems
  • Plan project work through team coordination meetings and scheduling
  • Consult with manufacturing operations, engineers, and maintenance personnel on projects, problems, and techniques to resolve critical situations expeditiously and achieve production goals
  • Update and maintain current documentation of specifications, drawings, and safety procedures
  • Knowledgeable in the effective use of Six Sigma principles, tools, and methods
  • Define problems of requesting departments and translate them into engineering solutions through innovation and advanced engineering approaches to respond in an efficient and timely manner to production needs and requirements
  • Apply WCM tools to projects and processes to improve quality, reduce defects, and thereby improve costs
  • Report all EH&S incidents - Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental, and Property/Equipment Damage
  • Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities
  • Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • Experience with identifying root cause and failure analysis
  • Ability to develop and implement improvement projects towards improving processes and/or equipment
  • Proven ability in problem analysis and resolution
  • Must have good "interpersonal skills" to work effectively with personnel throughout all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Six Sigma experience and working knowledge is a plus. Experience with 2D AutoCAD
