Position Overview:

AHRC New York City is looking for Per-Diem Community Support Specialists for our Day Programs. The compensation for this role ranges from $17 to $18 per hour, contingent upon driving qualifications. A valid driver's license is a prerequisite for this position.

This role has the opportunity to transition into a Full-Time position with comprehensive benefits after a successful 3-6 month probationary period.


Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist individuals with disabilities in achieving self-directed living.
2. Facilitate the inclusion of individuals with disabilities as valued members of their communities.
3. Promote behaviors that enhance community integration.
4. Provide direct training and support within individuals' homes and/or community settings.
5. Empower individuals and their families by offering essential support and information for informed decision-making.
6. Collaborate with individuals and stakeholders to design and implement support plans that leverage individual strengths, preferences, and abilities.


7. Work closely with supervisors to develop and execute effective plans, ensuring adherence to OPWDD regulations, agency policies, and core values.

8. Utilize both formal and informal methods to gather insights into the needs, interests, and aspirations of individuals.


9. Assist individuals in recognizing available formal and informal supports within their communities, families, and social networks, fostering the development and maintenance of relationships with friends, family, and community members.
