Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at the Baltimore Police Department.

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing oversight and direction to the staff and directing the administration of human resource programs within the agency.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in human resources, Public Administration, Business Management or related field and five years of experience in progressive and strategic human resources management.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage and supervise professional human resources staff, develop and implement human resources programs, policies, and procedures, and provide HR guidance and occasional training across the agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in training management on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coach management in resolution of employee relation issues and provide management with accurate, timely, and effective documentation.
  • Direct, coach, and provide supervision to HR Generalists and Assistants.
  • Record Maintenance and initiates, maintains, and reports on data and records as required for operations and Human Resources, state, and Federal compliance.
  • Participate in HR planning, practices, training, development, and meetings and monitor legal updates and collaborate internally to identify opportunities for best practices, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Public Administration, Business Management, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in progressive and strategic human resources management.
  • SHRM Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), (SPHR), or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) issued by the Society for Human Resource Management.
