Human Resources Director

Global Refuge is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to our HR functions, including compensation, employee relations, compliance, and international HR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate strategy into operational plans and objectives, ensuring alignment with Global Refuge's mission and values.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and processes to support smooth operations and compliance with federal, state, and international laws.
- Manage and provide oversight to HR staff members, ensuring effective talent management and development.
- Conduct investigations of complex employee relations issues, escalating concerns for appropriate attention and resolution.
- Represent HR at leadership meetings, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field, and 10-15 years of progressive human resources experience.
- 5 or more years of experience leading an HR department or unit, or managing an HR team.
- Extensive knowledge of Human Resources, including experience with complex organizations operating across multiple states.
- Strong generalist knowledge of employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, and expertise in at least one of the following areas: compensation, international Human Resources, or federal government contracting.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HR systems, including HRIS, performance management systems, LMS, and ATS.
- Excellent analytic, oral, and written communication skills, as well as the capacity to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
- A deep appreciation and understanding of how a diverse workforce contributes to the vitality and strength of an organization, and how HR can contribute to creating and sustaining a diverse workforce.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse staff, clients, consultants, and applicants.
- Proven ability to assess priorities and manage a variety of complex activities simultaneously and professionally.
- SPHR SHRM SCP Certification strongly preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Exceptional time management and quality control skills that ensure accurate and timely delivery of work products.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight occasionally.
