Software Development Engineer, AWS Investments

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to design and build new capabilities for our Investments Platform. This platform is a collection of products and services that streamline and optimize sales and marketing program operations, engagement, and management. As a member of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to influence our technical direction and build exciting new capabilities that operate at Amazon scale.
The platform will provide the foundation for full-stack applications built using native AWS technologies. You will interface with several key stakeholders of this platform, including our product, program leaders, and technical partners across AWS.
Key Responsibilities
• Design scalable and fault-tolerant platform components that power full-stack applications for building compelling user experiences
• Collaborate with UX design and product teams to understand needs, propose features, create early prototypes, and transform them into exciting experiences
• Propose innovative tools, frameworks, automations, and processes used by the entire services team for development
• Write high-quality, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews
• Dive deep into client or server systems to optimize for performance, maintainability, scalability, and extensibility
• Mentor team members to promote engineering excellence

Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
