Position Overview

This role reports directly to the Director of Strategic Sourcing and is tasked with overseeing global procurement activities related to direct materials for our Drinking Water & Filtration business units. The successful candidate will provide leadership in procurement categories, collaborating with various site locations to develop and implement category strategies while coordinating supply chain efforts to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets. Additionally, this position will manage global spend analytics and reporting within the supply chain function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the highest standards of conduct and ethics.
  • Manage intricate, multi-year relationships with customers and suppliers to support our strategic portfolio initiatives.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and communicate strategic sourcing activities related to business unit products and assigned commodities, aligning with cross-functional teams in supply, engineering, technical support, product management, and operations.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions at Zurn Elkay facilities with cross-functional teams to identify strategic commodities and prioritize cost-saving initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to sourcing/project managers on project deployment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify, evaluate, and qualify strategic suppliers, working with global facilities to create material cost-saving opportunities that align with commercial and financial objectives.
  • Conduct spend analysis, implementing corrective measures for projects that do not meet expectations and making decisions to realign teams to achieve or exceed targets.
  • Understand total cost of ownership and proactively assess process improvements to drive innovation and continuous enhancement.
  • Work with global business units to prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs), leading the supplier selection process.
  • Negotiate and draft supply agreements, addressing payment terms, delivery schedules, pricing, freight terms, currency fluctuations, and inventory levels.
  • Analyze market conditions to assess material availability and prepare market analysis reports that inform future strategies.
  • Ensure timely reporting against agreed-upon KPIs and present updates on Strategic Sourcing plans and progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic supplier and customer engagement.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20% of the time.
  • Experience sourcing from low-cost regions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across multiple global locations.
  • Track record of success in change management and high-performance environments.
