Job Description

Southwest Windstar is a dynamic and expanding sand processing enterprise seeking a qualified individual to enhance our workforce. We are recognized as a premier supplier of frac sand in the Permian Basin.

This role entails the operation of a front-end loader, which is a rubber-tired vehicle equipped with a hydraulically powered bucket or scoop. The primary responsibilities include lifting and transporting bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, feeding conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and efficiently loading trucks within the facility while strictly adhering to established safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate the front-end loader while complying with all safety and company regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety and maintenance inspections on the front-end loader to ensure optimal operation. Report any safety or maintenance issues to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Perform routine servicing, including oiling, greasing, and making minor adjustments to equipment; complete necessary documentation.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience operating a front-end loader.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in loading and unloading trucks.
  • Preferred experience with TXDOT regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working practices. Report any issues to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
  • Conduct daily pre-and-post operational inspections with appropriate documentation in line with company standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment regularly.
  • Utilize the loader to perform tasks such as moving and transporting materials like dirt, rocks, and aggregates.
  • Push sand to maintain designated pile areas.
  • Load sand into truck hoppers as required.
  • Possess knowledge of procedures related to loading and unloading materials.
  • May perform additional related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of operating experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must comply with all safety policies and procedures; effective communication with colleagues and supervisors is essential for project completion.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Good manual dexterity is required; may involve standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for extended periods.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
