This is a dynamic role that requires a self-motivated individual to manage multiple concurrent projects, with a passion for using new technologies, analytical skills, and the ability to optimize plant operations.
Key Responsibilities- Champion Continuous Improvement: Review existing plant operations to identify opportunities to improve plant-operating efficiency, evaluate and recommend new technologies or procedures that will improve facility performance KPIs and reduce costs.
- Analyze and Optimize Plant Performance: Evaluate and support in-field plant performance, historian data, and plant performance models to identify opportunities for operational improvement, potential plant changes, and implementation of new systems.
- Develop Dashboards: Create and improve plant-level dashboards and reports to support operations management and drive operational improvements.
- Be Present: Visit and inspect production facilities across the division, build relationships and knowledge of our operating facilities, teach, coach, and communicate operational strategies and opportunities for performance improvement.
- Assist: Assist division process control engineers in the maintenance and improvement of existing plant automation systems, assist division engineering in assessment of capital improvements, and assist division management in KPI improvement initiatives.
- B.S. or Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent of 5 years in the aggregate industry with production plant operations experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and speaking in group settings.
- Plant operational knowledge, including a thorough understanding of aggregate qualities and plant setups.
- Time management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects and priorities at one time.
- Knowledge of plant optimization programs, including understanding of PID loops and instrumentation such as level sensors, scales, VFDs, etc.
- Ability to anticipate, plan, and coordinate projects, and develop contingency plans.
- Physical ability to drive a pickup truck on a daily basis and navigate production facilities.
