About Us:
The Fuels and Energy Development Section specializes in pilot plant services and the advancement of innovative processes in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the construction, upkeep, and operational support for pilot plants focused on petroleum and chemical processes to gather data and enhance client process development and scaling.
- Assist in pilot plant operations on a 24/7 basis.
- Utilize tools, tubing, piping, pumps, and instrumentation to aid in the construction, maintenance, and operation of pilot plants.
- Oversee the management of departmental chemical and equipment inventories while ensuring organized and efficient workspaces.
- Continuously enhance staff training and safety protocols, maintaining thorough documentation to comply with ISO9001 standards.
Daily and Monthly Duties:
- Shift work will necessitate documentation of shift changes, job safety analyses for task work orders, record keeping, and operating pilot plants using distributed control systems.
- Responsibilities include loading and unloading catalysts, repairing and replacing heaters, performing insulation work, and managing solid and liquid feedstocks and products.
- Maintain chemical inventory labeling and organization, oversee waste disposal, conduct safety reviews, interpret P&IDs, and participate in HAZOPS and PHAs.
- Attend shifts to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Review and modify operational procedures as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Availability for shift work is mandatory.
- 2-10 years of experience in the construction, operation, and maintenance of chemical or petroleum processes involving piping, tubing, and instrumentation.
- 2-10 years of experience operating processes using control systems, with a solid understanding of P&IDs, pressures, temperatures, and process flows.
- A valid and clear driver's license is essential.

Applicants must be U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, non-U.S. citizen nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or refugees) due to ITAR regulations.
