About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Youth Treatment Specialist to join our team at the Jefferson County Youth Crisis Stabilization Facility. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with youth aged 13-17 who are receiving treatment for mental health, substance use, and life needs.

Job Summary

The Youth Treatment Specialist will provide therapeutic support and supervision to youth in a residential care setting. This includes teaching skills, empowering youth through a 6-month treatment program, and implementing daily schedules of activities. You will also be responsible for observing and documenting youth participation in activities and interactions with others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic support and supervision to youth in a residential care setting
  • Teach skills and empower youth through a 6-month treatment program
  • Implement daily schedules of activities, including group educational activities, recreational activities, and educational support
  • Observe and document youth participation in activities and interactions with others
  • Transport and attend medical appointments, court, community appointments, and family visits as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 21 years old (at least 2 years older than the oldest resident)
  • Working knowledge of positive child/youth development, patience, and understanding of difficult life situations
  • Ability to interact with youth and/or parents in a calm and professional manner
  • Valid driver's license, automobile, and insurance sufficient to meet agency requirements preferred

Benefits

Other Information
