About the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Support Specialist to join our team at Wisconsin Community Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of youth in our care.
Job Summary:The Therapeutic Youth Support Specialist will work closely with youth aged 13-17, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their goals and overcome challenges. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and be part of a dedicated team that shares your passion for delivering exceptional care.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide daily supervision and support to youth, promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
- Implement a token economy system to teach and reinforce essential skills, ensuring effective skill use and generalization.
- Utilize evidence-based practices, including Integrated Treatment Model (ITM), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing, to support youth's mental health and well-being.
- Cultivate positive relationships with youth, engaging them in activities, educational programs, and recreational pursuits.
- Co-facilitate group therapy sessions, focusing on healthy relationships, independent living skills, substance use education, and cultural identity development.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Schedule requires rotation of first and second shifts, including weekend coverage.
This role requires working in a State-Licensed Residential Care Center environment, interacting with youth and families who have experienced trauma. You must be able to provide emotional support and stability in a fast-paced setting.
