Job Overview

The Operations Manager is chiefly accountable for the formulation and execution of project strategies for several initiatives concurrently, ensuring that projects are completed within budgetary constraints while achieving or surpassing objectives related to safety, timeline, and client satisfaction. This role encompasses overseeing the installation of commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, packaged units, split systems, VRF, air handlers, boilers, pumping systems, cooling towers, starters/VFDs/controls, among others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee budget management, scheduling, quality assurance, and technical execution of designated projects
  • Exhibit strong communication, leadership, and written skills
  • Evaluate design schematics and shop drawings, addressing any changes or issues with the field team
  • Possess the ability to interpret and comprehend design specifications, submittals, and contractual agreements
  • Develop and sustain project timelines
  • Clearly convey project expectations to team members and stakeholders promptly
  • Engage with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers
  • Provide consistent updates to the project team and management regarding progress, plans, budget, and overall project status
  • Plan manpower, scheduling, and training to ensure sufficient skilled labor availability for major projects within the defined budget, timeline, and scope
  • Supervise and coordinate workforce on-site
  • Adhere to and enforce safety protocols on-site
  • Select and identify subcontractors
  • Coordinate the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to project sites
  • Implement risk management strategies
  • Assist in the preparation of project cost estimates

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, or an associate degree coupled with relevant HVAC experience
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical principles, with familiarity in HVAC design and installation
  • Dedication to safety practices
  • Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, Project, Lotus Notes, etc.); AutoCAD proficiency is advantageous
  • Capability to manage projects within the metropolitan area
  • Physical ability to ascend ladders and stairs
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
