The Gavilon Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations Assistant Manager to provide critical support to our operational activities. This role will assist in the development and maintenance of our facilities, working closely with the Operations Manager and Commercial Manager to ensure seamless execution of our operational plans.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist in the implementation of effective inventory control systems to meet company requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure operational cost control plans are met or exceeded.
  • Support the development and execution of facility improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maximize mix and blend opportunities by utilizing in-house stocks and grain available in the marketplace, while optimizing space allocation.
  • Assist in scheduling preventative maintenance functions to maintain a safe and reliable facility, in compliance with OSHA grain handling standards.
  • Support talent development for operational staff to manage costs and ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
  • Assist in implementing energy conservation programs to reduce costs and consumption of energy.
  • Maintain the security of our assets to minimize exposure to theft, property damage, vandalism, and trespassing.
  • Lead workers on-site, including contractors, temps, and service providers, to ensure compliance with all required safety, regulatory, environmental, and company programs.

**Requirements:**

  • Ability to work and interact well with others.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience working in an elevator and/or terminal.
  • Farming background a plus.

**Special Demands:**

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, kneel, and bend.
  • Exposure to moderate to loud noise within the work environment.
  • Exposure to heavy concentrations of grain dust.
  • Ability to frequently move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to frequently wear personal protective equipment correctly, including respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to comfortably work at heights of approximately 200 ft.
  • Ability to work in outdoor work environment, including various climates, weather conditions, and inclement weather, approximately 80% of the time.
  • Ability to perform all job responsibilities with necessary special demands for up to 8 hours per day.
