HVAC Project Manager
Overview:
The HVAC Project Manager plays a crucial role in the formulation and execution of project strategies for various initiatives simultaneously, ensuring that projects are completed within budgetary constraints while achieving high standards for safety, timeliness, and client satisfaction. This position involves overseeing the installation of commercial HVAC systems, which may include chillers, packaged units, split systems, VRF, air handlers, boilers, pumping systems, cooling towers, and associated controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee budget management, scheduling, quality assurance, and technical execution of assigned projects.
- Exhibit strong communication, leadership, and written skills.
- Review and analyze design documents and inform field teams of any modifications or issues.
- Interpret and understand design specifications, submittals, and contractual agreements.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project timelines.
- Effectively relay project expectations to team members and stakeholders promptly and clearly.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers.
- Provide consistent updates to project teams and management regarding progress, plans, budget status, and overall project health.
- Plan and schedule manpower, ensuring the availability of skilled labor for significant projects within defined budgetary and time constraints.
- Supervise and coordinate workforce activities on-site.
- Enforce safety protocols and site regulations.
- Select and manage subcontractors.
- Coordinate the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to job sites.
- Implement effective risk management strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of project cost estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, or an associate degree coupled with relevant HVAC experience.
- Proficient knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical principles, with familiarity in HVAC design and installation.
- Strong commitment to safety practices.
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Lotus Notes, etc.); AutoCAD experience is advantageous.
- Ability to manage projects within specified geographic areas.
- Physical capability to navigate ladders and stairs.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
